Mudbar at agriCULTURED 2025: Food, Science & Sustainability
At Mudbar Restaurant, we’ve always believed in connecting people to place through good food, great produce, and passionate producers. This July, we’re excited to be part of agriCULTURED 2025 — a multi-day celebration of Tasmania’s food, farming, and creative culture, taking place from 31 July to 3 August across Launceston and northern Tasmania.
A Taste of What’s to Come
agriCULTURED isn’t your average food festival — it’s a thoughtful, future-focused event that brings together farmers, scientists, chefs, First Nations voices, artists, storytellers and innovators to discuss where our food comes from and where it’s heading. From paddock to plate, the festival explores how we grow, eat and celebrate food in a way that’s better for people, place, and the planet.
Mudbar to Host “The Science Behind Your Plate” Dinner
As part of this year’s festival, Mudbar Restaurant will host an exclusive four-course dinner on Friday 2 August, titled “The Science Behind Your Plate.” This immersive culinary evening will be a collaboration between our team and guest chef Cameron Matthews (Mapleton Public House, QLD), along with experts from the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA).
Each course will be paired with discussions on how science, sustainability and agriculture intersect right here in Tasmania — offering diners not only an unforgettable meal but a deeper understanding of the people and practices behind what’s on the plate.
