Mud Bar & Restaurant is a premium waterfront dining room on Launceston’s Seaport — à la carte fine dining, an extensive wine list with a strong Tasmanian cellar, and a service standard we’re proud of. We’re hiring a senior front-of-house professional to lead our floor.
The Role
- Lead table service across lunch and dinner: greet, guide and host guests at fine-dining standard
- Own the wine service — recommend and present wines from an extensive list, manage the cellar, support producer wine dinners and tastings
- Take, relay and coordinate orders between floor and kitchen; run service as the senior on the floor
- Train and mentor junior floor staff; set the standard daily
- Lead functions and events service, from private dinners to full-venue bookings
- Work with management on menus, wine list development and service systems
About You
- Substantial experience in quality restaurant front-of-house (formal / fine-dining service preferred)
- Genuine wine knowledge — you can guide a guest through a serious list with confidence
- A leader on the floor: calm under pressure, warm with guests, respected by the team
- Available across a 7-day fine-dining roster (evenings + weekends)
- RSA (Tasmania) or willing to obtain before commencement
$80,000 + superannuation. Full-time, ongoing role. A long-standing, family-owned independent restaurant on the Seaport waterfront — serious produce, a serious cellar, and a team that cares.
